Earlier in April 2017, YouTube Partner Program (YPP) added a criteria for the new creators to summon up and that is to have 10000 lifetime views which will allow a creator to get their AdSense Approved and show ads on their videos; many of the small creators were affected and worked hard to prove themselves to be eligible to be a part of YPP.

Now, On January 16,2018, YouTube made 2 new criteria to be implemented in their YPP, and those are
1. You Should have a minimum of 4000 Hours of Watch Time in last 12 months.
2. Minimum Number of Subscribers on YT Channel should be 1000.

4000 Hours Of Watch Time
This is not an easy task for small creators, however if you read this article completely you will be able to bypass this.
Basically, this rule is an advantage to remove all the clickbaits happening on YT.
(ClickBait : Encouraging People to visit your links/videos with fake Thumbnails/Taglines/Headlines; Example : I met Salman Khan, and in the thumbnail it would be the image of Salman Khan, but when you open the video, it may be the Salman Khan Duplicate or a person whose name is Salman and none characteristic match with the super star, this type of clickbaits were a bypass to complete 10000 views which was to complete eligibility criteria of YPP 2017.)
Based on the number of clicks, the videos which were of poop quality used to get viral easily; thus effecting the small genuine content creators.
Once you hit the 4000 Hour Watch Time, your YT journey will be easy (until YT implements any new criteria in YPP xD), thus it will lead to qualitative videos and user friendly videos and will help a lot in creating a warm and pleasant ecosystem in making YT a more better platform to surf and serve.
Minimum 1000 Subscribers
Nevertheless, it is one of the most easy criteria to hit upon, if you complete 4k hours of watch time; 1k subscribers is just a small game.
Bypass All Conditions
In Year 2017, ClickBaits were an option to complete 10000 views.
Now, to complete 4000 hours, clickbait won't work at all, so from the below find your channel category and make a video as recommended :)
